Burton Albion has announced that Finn Delap has agreed to a new three-year deal with the Brewers.

The new terms also include the option of an additional year, which means Delap’s stay at the Pirelli Stadium could extend to 2030.

Speaking on his new deal, Finn said: “I’m delighted to extend my stay here at Burton Albion. I really enjoy playing here and I’m grateful for the opportunity and the trust that the staff have given me. I’ve had some great moments in an Albion shirt so far, hopefully there are many more to come.”

After joining the club’s academy as a 15-year-old, the defender completed his scholarship and made his professional debut off the bench in Albion’s Sky Bet League One fixture away at Bristol Rovers in February 2024.

Delap had loan spells at Woking and Buxton before making his first league appearance for the club under Gary Bowyer in the 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in April 2025. A further four appearances followed as the Brewers managed to secure survival. He was then given a two-year deal in the summer of 2025.

The 21-year-old’s first league start of the 2025/26 season came in the 1-0 win at the Cardiff City Stadium. From there he became a fixture in the team, starting the next five matches before a knee injury ruled him out for the majority of the season.

Delap returned from his long-term absence on the final day of last season against Leyton Orient and has featured in eight of Albion’s 10 competitive fixtures so far this season – scoring his first professional goal away at Notts County before his second followed a week later at home against Cambridge United.
