A new in-person networking group’s launch in Mere Green proved a roaring success – with the inaugural event a total sellout.

Fireside Chat Networking, founded and hosted by Anita Ellis of Lexicomm, aims to bring local business owners together for fun and informal networking, sparking new business ideas and connections.

With speakers focused on marketing, mindset or money, the first event at Harvest Fields Centre saw marketing expert Sophie Blackmore in the hotseat talking about the compound effect of micro marketing moments. Guests also enjoyed fire-coloured ice lollies, hot chocolate and cookies and games of pool.

Vice President for Sutton Coldfield Chamber and designer of Fireside Chat’s brand identity Kate Curry said: “It’s brilliant to see more in-person events being created for our business community, especially ones that are doing things a bit differently.

“Fireside chat networking is a brilliant concept because it combines professional development with playful networking.”

Anita Ellis said: “The fireside chat format worked brilliantly. It’s designed to put speakers at ease, and avoids death by Powerpoint for the audience too which is a win-win.

“I’ve got some amazing speakers lined up for the next 6 months, so I’m really chuffed that the first event sold out; it’s proof that people want opportunities to learn and hang out with likeminded business owners.”

The next Fireside Chat Networking event is on 9 July from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Harvest Fields Centre in Mere Green and tickets are on sale now.
