Firm raises £6,000 for Birmingham Hospice

IMI Truflo Marine, a globally recognised leader in flow control solutions, has gone above and beyond for Birmingham Hospice, having recently took part in its first ever charity championship.

A team of its employees raised an incredible £6,000 for the hospice, which could pay for 18 days of nursing in the community.

Birmingham Hospice have designed a rewarding volunteering experience that ensures every company and its employees who take part leave having tested their teamwork, communication, creativity, and negotiation skills, while also helping to deliver on the company's social responsibility goals.

Luke Manley, senior business development fundraiser at Birmingham Hospice, said: “We are so pleased to be able to offer the Birmingham Hospice Charity Championship to companies and local businesses who are looking to give back.

“It's a rewarding volunteering activity that builds your team but can also give back to our local community. It brings people from their homes, office and away from the 'day-to-day-ness' for a day full of fun, laughter and most importantly, giving back.”

Mike Semens-Fanagan, president of Global Marine at IMI Truflo Marine said: “We had such a great day supporting Birmingham Hospice.

“The charity championship was a great way for the entire company to get together and give back to our community. Seeing how much we raised and what it means to the hospice is inspiring!

Birmingham Hospice is the primary provider of adult hospice care in the city and its surrounding areas, offering expert palliative and end of life care completely free of charge to those living with a terminal diagnosis, and their families.
