Community Together CIC, a Tamworth-based organisation which has worked across South Staffordshire for 15 years supporting communities to encourage better health outcomes, is inviting businesses across Tamworth and South Staffordshire to attend a 'thank you' event at Drayton Manor Park.

The event is taking place on Friday 8 September from 1pm.

Those invited include organisations who have already signed up to the Business Community Connector Scheme launched to recognise the positive impact that local businesses have in helping address loneliness, isolation and signposting to essential support services.

A wide range of organisations have already signed up to the programme, with Lee Bates, chief operating officer, keen to encourage more to get involved.

He also wants to thank those who have already done so.

Lee said: “Every business is a community hub, whether supporting your staff team or customers you see people day in day out.

“Business Community Connectors is a simple way to look after the welfare of your customers and staff with a simple sign posting director.

“It's free, updated regularly and gives your teams access to support before it gets to crisis.

It's fantastic to be able to bring together various stakeholders and those community connectors who have already got involved.”

Speakers at the event will include Niccei Castanheira, head of HR at Drayton Manor Resort, Claire Ferris, senior locality officer at Support Staffordshire, Thomas Hobbs, head of economic development at Tamworth Borough Council and Chris Brewerton, divisional director at Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce.

They will all be offering their advice, support and experience on community, business and employee engagement.

Proceedings will begin at 1pm, with lunch being served.
