Firms to share Kickstart success stories
Greater Birmingham businesses will tell their success stories with the Government 's Kickstart Scheme in an event held by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce next month.
The session will be chaired by the GBCC 's head of policy, Raj Kandola (pictured), and will hear from senior representatives of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as well as business leaders on the government 's Kickstart scheme.
Now emerging from the Covid-19 lockdown measures, businesses looking to their growth beyond the pandemic will hear of the benefits that the Kickstart scheme could provide to their business in terms of team expansion and improving the long term risk of unemployment for 16 to 24 year olds who are currently on Universal Credit.
Confirmed speakers for the event include DWP 's service leader for Birmingham and Solihull, Dez Grant and DWP 's West Midlands group partnership manager Richard Smith.
Speaking on behalf of local businesses on their experience using the scheme will be Pete Ezard, partnership manager at the Aston Villa Foundation.
The event will take place online at 11am on 3 August.
The event will be free to all members and non-members.
