Firms urged to support crowdfunder to tackle mental health issues through performing arts
Businesses are invited to help out Burton Mind in their efforts to set up workshop sessions helping people practise self care through performing arts.
The project is set to improve wellbeing, self-esteem and help the vulnerable in communities to make new friends and have new interests.
The 16 weekly 2-hour performance arts and drama sessions will be held at the Shoebox Theatre with a final performance written and performed by the participants. A video of the performance will also be released later.
It will be led by local actor Margaret Manuell.
Burton Mind is currently at 74 per cent of the overall funding target, needing to raise an additional £2231 to host this project in its planned form.
If the target is not met, the charity would be forced to reduce the projects scope.
Businesses are encouraged to donate to the crowdfunder before 30 July and share the campaign with networks.
