First speaker announced for Staffordshire Gateway Growth Panel report launch - with bookings now open
A speaker has been confirmed for the upcoming launch of the Staffordshire Gateway Growth Panel report.
Amrit Virk (pictured), assistant principal at Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC), will be speaking at the event, happening on 27 March at the Hub at St Mary’s.
Amrit joined BSDC in September 2010 as a course leader. He now serves the College as assistant principle providing support and direction in marketing, business development and international partnerships for the college.
Bookings are open to this free event which is set to offer an in-depth, business-led exploration of the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of South and East Staffordshire.
Developed in partnership with the GBCC and divisional Chambers in Lichfield & Tamworth, Burton & District, and Cannock Chase, the panel brings together expertise from across the local business community to identify the key enablers needed to unlock sustainable economic growth.
The report examines how the move towards a new Strategic Authority could best support business, drawing on business roundtables, surveying, interviews, and learning from existing devolved authorities.
Ruth Fleet, Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce senior policy advisor, said: “We are thrilled that Amrit will be able to join us as a speaker for the Staffordshire Gateway Growth Panel launch event.
“Amrit has been heavily involved in the project from day one and will be able to bring a wealth of expertise and insight to the discussions.
“With some other fantastic speakers on the line-up, the event will be a fantastic opportunity to hear more about where businesses in South and East Staffordshire see long-term opportunities for growth via devolution.”
