A new community helping ambitious women become Fit for Lead and Fit to Life has successfully hosted its first FitLeader event.

The event was held at Liberty Leisure Gym and brought together women from a diverse range of professions to connect, collaborate and support one another.

The inaugural FitLeader Event welcomed women from across the local business community, including business owners and professionals working in sectors such as property investment, jewellery design, family mediation and chiropractic care.

The diverse mix of professions demonstrated the breadth of talent already training side by side in local gyms, creating opportunities for collaboration that may never otherwise have happened.

Founded by Charlotte Tweddell, a business development professional Executive MBA candidate and qualified fitness instructor.

The FitLeader Collective is built on the philosophy that fitness and leadership are not separate pursuits but complementary disciplines.

This synergy creates the same core skills of discipline, resilience, confidence and self-leadership, and these skills can be applied across business, career can create greater alignment, sustainable success and long-term wellbeing.

The FitLeader Collective makes this alignment intentional not incidental; Women become Fit to Lead and Fit for Life.

The inaugural event, An Introduction to The FitLeader Collective, introduced attendees to the philosophy behind the community and the foundations of The FitLeader method.

Charlotte then led an interactive workshop focused on helping participants develop and confidently articulate their business through a concise elevator pitch.

Women practised introducing themselves to one another, transforming passing acquaintances on the gym floor into meaningful business connections.

Charlotte Tweddell said: "So many ambitious women already share the same spaces in gyms, but often we never move beyond a quick hello between sets.

I wanted to create a space where those conversations could become genuine connections, where women could confidently share what they do, support one another and grow together."

Attendees praised both the atmosphere and the practical value of the session.

Sally, owner and director of Pathways Mediation, said: “I left feeling inspired and grateful for valuable tips including how to promote my business"

“Claire, founder of living well chiropractic added: "The event was great, professional while being spot on.”

The FitLeader Collective plans to continue growing through intentionally small, meaningful FitLeader events that enable women to make genuine connections, share experiences and support one another as they develop both personally and professionally.

Alongside FitLeader Events, the community is developing The FitLeader Podcast, educational content, membership opportunities and future immersive FitLeader Retreats, all designed to help women create alignment between their health, leadership and business.

Charlotte added: “This first event confirmed something I'd been thinking about for a long time.

“There are so many ambitious women already training alongside one another every day, each with incredible knowledge, businesses and experience.

“The FitLeader Collective exists to bring those women together, helping them build stronger connections, support one another and realise that they don't have to choose between their health and their ambition; they can be Fit to Lead and Fit for Life.”

The FitLeader Collective is now seeking partnerships with gyms, businesses and organisations across the region to host future FitLeader Events and grow the community of women committed to becoming Fit for Lead and Fit for Life.
