Florida trade potential in spotlight
The potential for UK trade with North-East Florida has come under the spotlight following a special event at the US Embassy.
The reception was hosted by FIS, a leading provider of technology solutions for financial institutions and JAXUSA Partnership, Jacksonville 's regional economic development initiative overseeing efforts of the seven counties of North-East Florida.
In attendance was Mandy Haque (pictured), Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce international director, who said: “There were about 50 people there who were all interested in learning more about the region of Jacksonville as a potential opportunity for investment and trade.
“It was a very useful meeting and valuable connections were made to enable us to work more closely with that region of Florida. Jacksonville boasts a wide variety of business opportunities, including health care, retail, transport, scientific and technical services.
“It was a great opportunity to represent the Transatlantic Chamber Division and hopefully the event will lead to further bilateral trade and investment. ”
