Footprints charity ball raises over £17,000 for underprivileged communities in Kenya

Footprints ball

The Footprints Family raised over £17,000 for vulnerable communities in Kenya through a charity ball held at the Burton Albion Football Stadium.

The evening brought together supporters across Burton with local businesses providing sponsorship, auction prizes, advertising, and raffle donations.

Founded by Kerry Watson, a passionate Burton-on-Trent resident, The Footprints Family has spent over 17 years empowering vulnerable children in rural Kenya through education, healthcare, food, and hope.

What started with Kerry purchasing a plot of land has grown into a thriving, self-sustaining community powered entirely by solar energy—delivering clean water, electricity, and opportunity to those who need it most.

Kerry said: “Thank you to everyone who attended the ball and for fundraising for an amazing cause.

“These funds will help transform lives through education, nutrition, safety, and long-term empowerment — because when a community stands together, change becomes possible.”
