Forward education trust seeking new volunteer director

Chamber member Forward Education Trust is recruiting a volunteer non-executive director to join as a trustee on its main board - as well as to chair the Audit, Risk & Finance sub-committee.

The Trust is interested in talking to finance and business professionals from the Greater Birmingham business community about this role.

The position offers the opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of a growing Multi Academy Trust, working alongside executive leaders and fellow trustees to ensure strong governance and high-quality oversight.

Trustees (directors) play a central role in setting strategy, safeguarding financial integrity and guiding the Trust’s long-term priorities.

The Trust is looking for someone with substantial financial management expertise or business operations experience, matched with the ability to exercise independent judgement and a commitment to supporting improved outcomes for children with high levels of special educational needs.

Trust CEO, Simon Dilkes (pictured), said: “Being a Trustee and Chair of this committee is a key part of our future growth strategy.

“We are a financial stable trust, with plans for the future which include growth, as well as ensuring that our pupils and staff have the best educational facilities to support their learning & development”.

The candidate will also be a Trustee on our main Board, so a contribution to the wider work of the Trust is expected.  Information about this opportunity is available on the Trust’s website.
