Fostering agency launches local community partnership
Independent fostering agency, Capstone Foster Care, are calling upon small businesses to elevate their organisation by championing fostering.
Nearly 70000 children and young people live with almost 55000 fostering families across the UK each day, about three quarters of the almost 98,000 children in care each day. More than ever families are needed to step up and foster if they can.
With the national short fall in mind, Capstone Foster Care have launched their innovative new Community Champion scheme.
The scheme is open to all businesses with a local footprint, from hairdressers to accountants, estate agents to newsagents, and everyone in between who fall within the agency’s catchment area.
Once signed up, the business will be provided with bespoke duel-branded materials such as leaflets and handy cards, as well as a quarterly newsletter containing hints and tips with how to get the most out of their partnership.
Head of marketing & communication for the organisation, Sarah Carter said: “Our Community Champions do a fantastic job of, not only raising awareness about Capstone Foster Care and what makes us unique, but also fostering in general and how those who are able to foster should seriously consider it.”
Community champions for Capstone Foster Care not only enjoy the social benefits of being part of a cause so crucial for some of society's most vulnerable children, but also receive a financial sum when individuals referred as a result of the partnership become fully fledged foster carers.
Sarah continued: “The crisis in care is serious.
“And we will do everything in our power to continue to find safe, secure and loving homes for vulnerable children and young people.”
Capstone Foster Care is an independent fostering agency specialising in a therapeutic approach, their unique MATTS team (akin to CAMHS) provide mental health support at the point of need.
They are owned by their employees through an Employee Ownership Trust, ensuring strong reinvestment in staff and low caseloads for social workers. It is the only independent agency to invest in futures of care experienced young people aged 17 plus through the Capstone Care Leavers Trust.
