Members of the public can start the New Year by getting their affairs in order and ensuring their wishes are known - by having a free standard will made in return for a voluntary donation to a community bowls club.

Enoch Evans LLP solicitors, based in Sutton Coldfield, are sponsors of Erdington Court Bowls Club which is part of a registered charity.

They are holding a 'Make A Will Fortnight' between 17 and 31 January at their Sutton office, and appointments can be arranged by calling 0121 355 2336.

A member of staff of Enoch Evans will also be at the Bowling Green Close home of the bowls club On Thursday 20 January to meet new clients by prior appointment.

Ray Woods, marketing officer for the club, said: "We are run totally by volunteers and like many similar sports organisations, we rely on subscriptions and other fund raising. COVID has of course had some effect on us. We have a large indoor and outdoor facility to maintain and this requires us to set aside relatively big sums for repairs and replacement. We are also continuing to invest in the future development of the Club.

"We were delighted when Reiss Matthews of Enoch Evans LLP in Sutton Coldfield offered to help us by encouraging donations to the Club - and with legacies. The firm is already one of a number of local sponsors of the Club. We are really grateful to Reiss and his colleagues for their support.
