Fruition Accountancy welcomes new apprentice

Lichfield-based Fruition Accountancy has strengthened its team with the appointment of apprentice James Davies, as part of the firm's continued investment in developing local talent.

James has joined Fruition while studying towards his AAT Level 3 qualification at South Staffordshire College, combining his studies with practical experience across the accountancy practice.

Before joining the firm, he worked within his father's business, giving him a grounding in the realities of running a small business.

John Moore, director of Fruition Accountancy, said: “Developing our own people has always been important to us.

“Accountancy is changing rapidly and we need to keep attracting talented young people into the profession and give them the opportunity to build successful careers.

“Apprenticeships are a great way of doing that. James can work towards a recognised professional qualification while learning from the team and working with real businesses from day one.”

James is being supported by his line manager, Philippa Cooke, who said: “James has settled into the team really well. His experience of working in a family business means he already has an appreciation of what life is actually like for the business owners we work with.

“Our job now is to build on those foundations, develop his technical skills and make sure he gets exposure to lots of different areas of accountancy as he progresses.”

James said: “Working in my dad's business gave me a good introduction to how businesses operate, but I wanted to develop that further and build a career for myself.

“The apprenticeship with Fruition means I can gain qualifications while getting practical experience at the same time, which really appealed to me.”

Fruition provides accountancy, tax and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses across Staffordshire, Warwickshire and beyond.
