Businesses across Staffordshire are being offered free digital skills training through a new support programme being offered by Serco.

The Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency, and offers Cannock Chase, Lichfield, Tamworth and East Staffordshire based firms free training to help improve their online presence.

The programme offers support through a range of online courses, with its next course taking place on 24 May focused on digital marketing.

Rashid Lalloo, director of Premier Ship Models, explains how digital skills training through the SSW programme has benefited the business

He said:: “I am always looking to gain that competitive edge and this training has supported us to improve our online business throughout Covid. We have a very motivated workforce however the training increased staff satisfaction and gave the staff more confidence in their work and has increased productivity. ”
