The Future Faces division of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce have announced that the first of four judges' interview sessions for the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards 2023 will be taking place on Friday 4 August.

All four of the interview sessions will be taking place at the Assay Studios in the Jewellery Quarter.

The judges for the first session will be Amardeep Gill, Dan Lee and Rebekah Taitt, who will be interviewing shortlisted applicants in the Law, Retail & Hospitality, and People & Wellbeing categories.

Amardeep Gill is a Partner at international law firm Trowers & Hamlins. Amardeep is the firm's National Head of Public Sector and advises government, public bodies and SMEs on transformation or business critical projects.

He is nationally ranked as an expert in his chosen field (Chambers UK) and has also been recognised for his market-leading expertise by legal research experts, Acritas, who have designated him as an 'Acritas star'.

Amardeep has extensive experience across a range of sectors including digital technology, leisure, transport, health, education, outsourcing, regeneration and aviation.

Dan Lee is a professional chef from Birmingham, and is the MasterChef: Professionals UK champion 2021, with his career background being a mix of private dining, Michelin star restaurants, 5-star hotels and banqueting events. Dan is classically French trained but has worked around the world in countries such as New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, Greece and France.

Last but by no means least, Rebekah Taitt, Regional Development director in the Midlands for Lloyds Bank, will be another judge on this panel. With over a decade in the Financial Banking Industry, Rebekah has built her career across several client facing sectors. Her former role was supporting SME Corporate Businesses as a relationship director.

Today Rebekah works for Lloyds Bank, appointed as the Midlands Regional Development director, with the goal of creating a more sustainable and inclusive future for people and businesses specifically in the Midlands. Rebekah is also a proud member of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Council, appointed early this year.

Lillian Elekan, chair of judges, said: “We are very happy to announce our first judging interview session with Amardeep, Dan and Rebekah. All of our judges have extensive experience and knowledge of our award categories, and we can't wait to see how our shortlisted award applicants do in their interviews.”
