Future Faces held a special celebration for more than 70 individuals who have been shortlisted for the Greater Birmingham Young Professional Awards.

The event was hosted on Birmingham Library’s terrace and celebrated the successful shortlisted applicants for this year’s BYPY Awards.

Attendees enjoyed a complimentary drinks reception and mingled with finalists, alumni, judges and senior leaders from across the region’s business and professional community.

Shalom Gallagher, an Applied Digital Technology Solutions Degree Apprentice at Accenture, attended the event and has been shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year category.

She said: “I nominated myself for this award because I am nearing the end of my apprenticeship and thought I’d put myself out there and see where it leads.

“What encouraged me most was someone saying it’s best to let the judges tell you no rather than saying no to yourself. I am incredibly happy to have made the shortlist.”

Ana Amona, a confidence coach at Rainha Noir Coaching, also attended the event and has been shortlisted in the People and Wellbeing category.

Ana said: “It’s nice to be in a room where everyone else has been shortlisted, to meet different talent and to see how good and safe the region of Birmingham is.

“For me, being shortlisted felt like a surprise but, at the same time, felt rewarding for all of the work I have been doing. Sometimes we do a lot of things and don’t recognise it ourselves, so we don’t celebrate it.

“Being shortlisted felt like being recognised for my work, regardless of whether I win.”
