A Future Faces member was invited to attend the King’s Trust Opportunity Summit at Buckingham Palace as a King’s Trust Ambassador and youth advocate.

Kwame Boateng is a youth advocate for the Black Business Collective at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce which champions opportunities for young entrepreneurs across Birmingham.

The summit brought together young people, business leaders, policymakers and representatives from across the youth sector to explore practical solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing young people today including unemployment, isolation and access to opportunity.

The summit was hosted by His Majesty the King and attended by Sir Gareth Southgate.

The event also marked the launch of a new national initiative from The King’s Trust focused on providing young people with access to mentors, coaches and employment support.

Kwame said: “Attending The King’s Trust Youth Opportunity Summit at Buckingham Palace was a truly humbling experience.

“As someone whose own journey has been shaped by access to opportunity, mentorship and support, it was inspiring to join leaders from across the country to discuss how we can ensure every young person has the chance to fulfil their potential.

“Meeting His Majesty The King and hearing from Sir Gareth Southgate reinforced an important message: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.

“Through my work with young people and the Black Business Collective, I see first-hand the transformative impact that access, representation and trusted support can have.

“I remain committed to helping create pathways that enable more young people to thrive.”
