Future Faces member recognised with volunteering award

A Future Faces member has been recognised for her commitment to volunteering.

Sophie Allen, a designer and marketing specialist at Serrano Media volunteers as a SARAC ambassador and has been recognised with a volunteering award for her commitment to the charity and its work supporting survivors of sexual violence.

Support Staffordshire runs awards to recognise people, charities, community groups and organisations that make a positive contribution to Staffordshire’s voluntary and community sector.

Sophie Allen (pictured) said: “Receiving this award was certainly a pleasant surprise and completely unexpected. I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to Caroline and the team at SARAC for nominating me as their chosen volunteer for Support Staffordshire's Volunteer Awards. 

“I’m incredibly grateful to SARAC for the positive impact they have, not only on my life but also on those they support through their vital services: supporting survivors of sexual violence.

“The Pearl Ball I helped plan earlier this year aimed to raise funds for SARAC's mission and successfully raised £9k. Seeing the community band together in support was a testament to our Burton business community.

“From business sponsors, donors and attendees, we saw an excellent turnout, generous fundraising efforts and of course, a beautiful night. 

“To see SARAC growing warms my heart as I see their indefatigable commitment behind the scenes to provide support for survivors, and I'm immensely thankful to all who support their mission.”
