Future Faces members join Birmingham Pride festivities
Members of the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce joined thousands of participants in the Birmingham Pride parade over the weekend.
The city was a sea of colour as 100,000 people took part in the annual celebration on Saturday and Sunday.
Future Faces members were joined by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce chief executive Henrietta Brealey.
The GBCC have been working with Birmingham Pride to champion diversity across the region’s business community.
Birmingham Pride plays a leading role in building a community where all people are free to live without fear or prejudice while striving for equality as part of an evolving global pride movement.
Their year-round projects and partnerships are focussed on transforming the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
Lawrence Barton, from Birmingham Pride, said: “This collaboration underscores our commitment to fostering inclusivity and celebrating diversity in our city.
“Partnering with the business community is vital for amplifying our advocacy efforts and promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion beyond our annual celebrations.
“Together, we can create meaningful change, ensure workplace equality, and build a more inclusive society where everyone feels valued and respected."
As part of the partnership, Future Faces, the young professionals division of the GBCC, took part in the Pride Parade.
The parade took place as part of Birmingham Pride Weekend, which is the climax of their year-round activity, bringing together over 100,000 people to celebrate LGBTQ+ achievement, life and love.
Hannah Francis, Faye Jacklin and Nadia Johnstone-Smith represented Future Faces.
Hannah, senior business manager at Lloyds Bank, was also the winner of two VIP tickets for the Birmingham Pride Festival alongside Benjamin Caseley, associate director in Leverage Finance at Lloyds Bank.
Hannah said: “I was so thrilled to have been lucky enough to win the Pride VIP tickets. I loved being at the front of all the action and to meet and greet some Pride icons both from Birmingham and visiting for the weekend.
“I was so excited to pop out some killer moves to Murder on the Dance Floor. Saltburn eat your heart out!”
Benjamin Caseley said: “I was absolutely ecstatic to be able to attend Birmingham Pride this year as a winner of the VIP tickets!
“As a member of the community, I couldn’t wait to dance, laugh, and celebrate equality for all - we let the rainbow and glitter guide us through the event.”
