Members of the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce and Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce staff joined thousands of participants in the Birmingham Pride parade over the weekend.

The city was a sea of colour as 100,000 people took part in the annual celebration on Saturday and Sunday.

The Future Faces members who took part included President Sarah Griffiths, vice-president Faye Jacklin, Nadia Johnstone-Smith, Becca Horley, Charlotte Stanyer, Michelle Lewis and Tom Green.

The GBCC staff included manager of Future Faces Sophie Poduval-Morrell, Lillian Elekan, Kate Warnaby, Elaine Damms, and Charlie Elliott.

The parade took place as part of Birmingham Pride Weekend, which is the climax of their year-round activity, bringing together over 100,000 people to celebrate LGBTQ+ achievement, life and love.

Faye Jacklin said: “It was amazing to have an even bigger group of us from Future Faces and GBCC in the walking group this year! The overall atmosphere was as electric as ever and the whole group enjoyed being part of the celebration!”

Sophie Poduval-Morrell said: "I was so proud to walk with my colleagues and Future Faces members on Saturday. To see our city come together and celebrate the diversity that makes us so strong. Future Faces is the network for everyone, it's about being authentic and giving young professionals the courage not only to be themselves, but to be kind and supportive of one another.

"Be an ally, be a champion because we are the future of this region."

Birmingham Pride plays a leading role in building a community where all people are free to live without fear or prejudice while striving for equality as part of an evolving global pride movement.

Their year-round projects and partnerships are focussed on transforming the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
