Game Guru launches Touchwood café with golden ticket giveaway
Game Guru, the Midlands' home of board game cafés, collectables, and community gaming, is set to open its second location at Touchwood Shopping Centre on Thursday, 14 May.
Bigger and bolder than its Birmingham debut, Game Guru Touchwood brings tabletop play, a full restaurant and bar, and an expanded collectables offer to one of the region's best-loved leisure destinations.
To celebrate the opening, the first 100 visitors will receive a Golden Ticket, giving them access to unlimited play for a whole year for £50 – which would originally worth £350.
Since opening its first site in Birmingham last October, Game Guru has established itself as a landmark in the Midlands tabletop gaming scene. The Touchwood opening marks the brand's next chapter - a premium space with an expanded games library, a specialist retail range, exclusive limited edition trading cards and collectables, and greater capacity for families, groups, and events.
From 10am until close, the full menu is available all day including a full English breakfast, brunch classics, freshly baked pizzas, craft burgers, and Game Guru speciality dishes, including bao buns and katsu curry.
The café counter offers artisan cakes, freshly baked pastries, and buttery croissants alongside a speciality coffee menu that includes flat whites, matcha, and Spanish lattes.
At the bar, a curated selection of beers and creative cocktails are available throughout the day.
Krishna Yadlapalli, founder of Game Guru, said: "Game Guru is about joy and human connection.
"You leave having genuinely connected with the people you came with - and usually with a new game under your arm."
Tony Elvin, general manager at Touchwood, added: “We are hugely excited to welcome Game Guru to Touchwood, an exciting new hybrid concept encompassing retail, restaurant and board game play.
“What I love most about this concept is the Game Guru element itself, where board game experts or Game Gurus, are on hand to help you learn how to play a new game.
“With dedicated, themed evenings and special events, I can see this being a big hit with families and adult gamers alike, getting people off screens and interacting together again in a fun and relaxed environment.
“Let the games begin!”
