Games chief to address Chamber leadership conference
The boss of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will deliver a keynote speech at a major leadership and productivity conference hosted by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce this month.
Ian Reid (pictured), chief executive of Birmingham 2022, is speaking at the Growth Through People conference, taking place at the Eastside Rooms on 30 March.
Mr Reid will discuss his experience of organisational and regional leadership, championing the region and its residents and his vision for how the leadership and people management of businesses can play a role in celebrating everything the region has to offer.
Mr Reid has overseen the establishment of the Games ' Organising Committee, including the planning and delivery of the region 's largest cultural and sporting event.
He has a wealth of Games, finance and commercial experience, having served as chief financial officer and company secretary for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games from 2009 to 2015, leading the Corporate Services and Support Functions including finance, legal, procurement, HR, programme management and office management.
Other speakers confirmed for the conference are Dr Justin Varney, director of public health at Birmingham City Council, Lisa Powney, senior consultant at Curium Solutions Limited, and Karl George MBE, managing director at the Governance Forum Ltd and partner at RSM UK.
