Garrick Theatre joins forces with arts group for live music evening
Lichfield’s Garrick Theatre has joined forces with a local arts group to bring an evening of live music and rising local talent to Burntwood Rugby Club.
The Emerging Talent Takeover is part of Lichfield Arts’ year-round programme supporting early-career artists and helping young people develop their skills, gain experience and take their first steps into the creative industries.
The initiative offers performance opportunities, mentoring and practical support, helping artists build confidence and connect with new audiences.
The special Burntwood showcase on Friday May 8 will feature a line-up of promising young performers from the local area, including two solo artists and two bands.
Among them are L’Exterieur, a Lichfield-based alt-rock band formed in 2024, blending influences from Evanescence, Fleetwood Mac, Muse and Paramore, alongside their own original material.
Also performing are Snapped, a teenage band who have quickly built a reputation through local gigs and festivals with their mix of rock, pop-punk and original tracks.
The bill also includes 19-year-old Burntwood singer-songwriter Lauren Mary, whose indie-folk sound pairs intimate vocals with reflective songwriting, and Finn Hawkins, a South Staffordshire College music student performing a mix of classic and contemporary songs.
The event promises an energetic, grassroots atmosphere and a chance to discover the region’s next wave of talent.
Doors open at 7.00pm, with music from 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 and available via the Lichfield Garrick website.
