Gas tanker captured in 3D laser-engraved crystal

Solid Crystals, a laser engraving company, recently completed a 3D Crystals project for corporate giants Calor Gas.

The gas company wanted to encase their state-of-the-art gas tankers into a 3D laser-engraved crystal. The bespoke 3D crystals were presented to employees in appreciation of their service to Calor Gas.

Solid Crystals used drawings and still images of all facets of the gas tankers to produce the bespoke piece. To add to the sentimentality of the project, each 3D crystal was personalised with a message from the company unique to each recipient. A LED light base was fitted to each in order to accentuate the artwork in the crystal, optimizing the intricate detail.

The West-Midlands-based team is led by 3D technology-expert Gerald, combining art and technology to transform 2D still images in the form of logos, product, architecture or invention prototypes into 3-dimensional or 4-dimensional art pieces which are laser engraved in a high- spec glass crystal.

Gerald Ache, innovations director, said: "The detailed capturing of the 3-dimensional view of the Calor Gas Tanker in the crystal was mesmerizing as the crystal, when viewed from any angle, gave an illusion of a following effect. A perfect example of art meeting with technology."

Solid Crystal 's bespoke products are designed for a variety of occasions including award ceremonies, employee recognitions and product launches.
