Global trainers to host presentation skills fundraiser

Birmingham-based global coaching and training company, OTD, is set to take its world renowned presentation skills training to church, in a bid to raise essential funds for one of the city’s best-loved landmarks.

OTD, which is headquartered on Ludgate Hill in the Jewellery Quarter, will host two bitesize Power Presenter! workshops in the historic surroundings of St. Paul’s Church next month (May 2024).

The events have been organised in support of the church’s ‘Raise the Roof’ campaign, which aims to raise £660,000 for urgent roofworks to prevent potentially catastrophic flood damage.

Power Presenter! distils more than a decade of specialist research into a model designed to engage any audience, where participants learn the techniques used by the world’s best presenters.

The programme is typically delivered by OTD to blue chip organisations across the world, including Zoetis, GSK and Johnson & Johnson.

OTD’s joint managing director, Andy Crotty (pictured), said that the bitsize events will provide an opportunity for local businesses to sample Power Presenter! while backing wider efforts to preserve the iconic church building.

He said: “St. Paul’s Church has been part of the fabric of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter since 1779. It’s almost impossible to imagine this part of the city without it, but the church is in grave danger of having to close its doors unless it can raise the funds for essential repairs. The good news is that we all have the chance to do something about it.

“We want to give people a unique experience within the beautiful setting of the church.

“We’ll help them learn some amazing new presentation skills, whether they’re a nervous beginner or a seasoned professional, and all at a fraction of the cost we typically charge commercially.

“We’re thrilled with the level of interest we’ve received from local people and businesses so far and can’t wait to welcome people to St. Paul’s Church.”

Power Presenter! takes place at St. Paul’s Church on Tuesday 7 May and Thursday 23 May, from 12:30 - 4pm. Places cost £50.00pp, with all proceeds donated to the St. Paul’s Church ‘Raise the Roof’ campaign. To book your place, please contact andyc@otd.uk.com
