The Birmingham Black Business Show returns this month – with a line-up of big-name speakers including Olympic gold medalist Dame Denise Lewis.

Taking place at the NEC on Saturday 14 June, the show features more than 70 live speakers, 100 exhibition stands and 4,000 face-to-face attendees.

There are also around 100 sessions for delegates to sit in on - from panel discussions, to workshops, to one-on-one free career/business advice as well as a shopping extravaganza featuring the finest Black-owned businesses in the Midlands.

The event will provide an exciting space for people and organisations to network, discuss and take action on advancing the development of ethnic minorities in the UK.

Keynote speakers include Dame Denise Lewis and Timothy Armoo.

Dame Denise Lewis (pictured) is an accomplished presenter, broadcaster, former Olympic gold medal-winning athlete, president of Commonwealth Games England and president of UK Athletics

She is one of the “golden girls” of British athletics, winning gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and subsequently being inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

Denise has twice been runner-up in the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards and was honoured with an OBE in 2000, followed by a Damehood in 2023 and an Honorary Doctorate from Birmingham City University in the same year.

The gold medal-winning heptathlete has also gone on to have a successful broadcasting career.

Timothy Armoo is a pioneer in the world of influencer marketing and brand building.

At the age of 21, Timo founded Fanbytes, helping global brands including Nike, Samsung, Deliveroo and the UK Government engage with Gen Z, via influencer marketing.

In 2022, five-and-a-half years post launch, Timo sold Fanbytes to global marketing company Brainlabs in an eight-figure exit.

This marked Timo’s second successful exit, having sold his first business EntrepreneurXpress – a business media publication – to Horizon when he was just 17.

Timo has spoken to audiences worldwide including Goldman Sachs, You Tube, Barclays, PwC, and Nespresso, and shared the stage with leading media figures including Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg and Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.

As one of the few visible black leaders in the marketing and tech space, Timo is a recognised thought leader on themes including reaching a Gen Z audience and creating a Gen Z mindset, the new world of media and building and future proofing a multi-generational workforce.
