Golf day raises vital funds
A golf day organised by Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber 's chosen charity Number Eight Tamworth raised more than £1,000.
Around 70 golfers took part in the event at Drayton Park Golf Club, with vital funds being raised for Number Eight Tamworth, the Kidney Research Association and Junior Diabetes Research Fund.
More than 18 teams took part - with Crown Highways of Burntwood winning with 78 points.
Teams from Tamworth firms Pure Cloud Solutions and PI-KEM followed close behind in second and third.
Dawn Candy, operations director of Number Eight Tamworth, said: “It was a pleasure to work so closely with Drayton Park Golf Club and the Chamber of Commerce in Lichfield and Tamworth to raise much needed funds for our charity.
“The support of our members, clients and the golfers linked to Drayton Park is massively appreciated and we thank all the teams, and especially the organising committee including Bob Lander, John Wood, Millie Horton and Nick Iliffe. ”
Division director of Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber, Chris Brewerton, said: “I would like to highlight a big thanks to the hosts of the day, Drayton Park Golf Club, and especially our teams made up of Chamber members including PI-KEM, Pure Cloud Solutions, Crown Highways, Select Car Leasing, Martin Hall Management, Azets, The Training Initiative and Fruition Accountants.
“The generosity of all those in attendance to raise money for such a vital cause in Tamworth was fantastic. ”
Number Eight Tamworth provides supportive accommodation for young mums and their babies and pregnant young mums to be.
It provides space where their families can not only feel safe and secure but also be assisted through the very difficult period immediately before and after the birth of their first child.
