Government funded innovation on offer to Staffordshire firms
Staffordshire University is going on the road to showcase how Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) can help businesses to boost profits.
Businesses across Staffordshire are being encouraged to make the most of the government funded support to identify innovative products, processes, and services.
Up to 75 per cent of project costs are covered by the government and businesses that join forces with Staffordshire University will collaborate with an academic expert and graduate to support their initiative.
Marek Hornak, executive director of Business Engagement, said: “Business innovation is essential for growth, profit, accessing new markets and staying ahead of the competition.
“If you have a business idea, innovative solution, or problem that you lack the time, resources, or expertise to implement, then Staffordshire University can help. Our experts will support you throughout your KTP journey - from idea scoping, application, partnership implementation and everything in between. ”
Staffordshire University is inviting businesses to begin a journey to greater profitability by attending events throughout February and March in Burton, Lichfield, Cannock and Stone. Experts from the University 's Innovation Enterprise Zone will share how businesses can get involved and will be offering one-to-one follow up clinics.
Alastair Dawes (pictured), director of Business, Development and Enterprise, explained: “We 're keen to help businesses across the whole of Staffordshire benefit from this government funding and the opportunities that KTPs offer. Charities, SMEs and large businesses are all eligible, plus from March 23 public sector organisations can also apply.
“Our roadshow events will cover everything you need to know about KTPs, including how to apply for them, the types of initiatives that can be delivered, return on investment, and much more. We encourage businesses of all types to come along and find out how we can work together! ”
