A packaging supply company has reported a welcome boost in turnover.

Lakeside Products, based on Widney Lane in Solihull, has reported 20 per cent growth in 2020/21. The business said that the growth was due to exceptional demand from current and new customers alike.

Lakeside Products supplies a wide range of paper-based, high-end packaging to a number of market sectors, including food, luxury retail, horticultural and automotive. All their products are environmentally friendly, recyclable, and compostable.

The company is now in its eleventh year of operation and has a combined 45 years ' experience in the industry.

Trev Thorley (pictured), managing director, said: “Using only the very latest techniques, machines and materials, together with a dedicated professional approach, ensures we remain competitive and, crucially, that we provide a reliable supply chain to our customers."

In July 2020, the company moved into larger offices to accommodate their growth and also went on to employ two additional staff members. They are already preparing to increase employee numbers again in the coming months.

Trev explained: “Our forward thinking, detailed planning and preparation enabled us to succeed to even higher levels than forecast during both Brexit and the pandemic. This, together with a move to bigger offices has laid the foundations for our future growth, and a reliable and secure platform for both our workforce and customers alike. ”

Trev credits the Solihull Chamber of Commerce for being one of the best sources of support and information to businesses for navigating the Brexit process.

He also went on to thank the Chamber of Commerce for introducing Lakeside Products to the GBSLEP Growth Hub, who Trev says played a pivotal role in the company being able to expand rapidly in 2020.

The company is confident about the future.

Trev added: “There are exciting times ahead for the British economy, and Lakeside is well positioned to continue to prosper within the UK and, as a team, we look forward to the challenges ahead together."
