The CEO of global fitness wear brand Gymshark has been confirmed as a participant in Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 's Global Trade Conference.

Steve Hewitt (pictured) is taking part in a panel discussion entitled 'The Global Journey ' at the virtual conference on 23 June.

Steve joined Solihull-headquartered Gymshark in June 2014, initially as an external advisor.

He went on to become managing director the following year when he began the process of professionalising the business and building the foundations to prepare Gymshark for its next stage of growth.

In 2017, Steve became CEO and spearheaded the building up of the senior leadership team that has been responsible for the exponential growth of the brand on a global scale, winning many international awards along the way.

With Steve at the helm, Gymshark has gone from being a leading entrepreneurial start-up to becoming a global brand with millions of customers in more than 170 countries via its 13 websites.

The focus of this year 's Global Trade Conference will be an analysis of the global economy following the events of the last year, with discussions around international connections, valuable trade insights, success stories from companies who have benefitted from an international footprint and how to grow sales and client bases.

Among the speakers attending the conference are high-profile duo and leading economists, Simon Hart and Joe Brusuelas from RSM, a global leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services to middle market leaders.

Former Bloomberg chief economist Mr Brusuelas has more than 20 years ' experience in finance and economics, while Mr Hart sits on the board of RSM UK as international partner, with responsibilities to promote the firm to the global market.

Last year 's digital event gave the Chamber the opportunity to involve a global audience, attracting almost 600 delegates who were spread across 24 countries.

The conference also managed to reach 2.8 million people via Twitter.
