Hardy Signs joins skydive for Burton Chamber’s chosen charity
Members of the marketing team at Hardy Signs joined forces with volunteers, ambassadors and staff members at the Sexual Abuse and Rape Advice Centre (SARAC) to support Burton & District Chamber of Commerce’s Charity of the Year.
In a display of teamwork and courage, the group completed a tandem skydive from 15,000 feet, raising funds and awareness for SARAC’s vital work providing free and confidential support to survivors of sexual abuse and rape across Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
The initiative captured the attention of local businesses and the wider community, helping the team raise an impressive £3300 through donations from colleagues, clients, and supporters.
SARAC representatives expressed deep gratitude for the effort and generosity shown, emphasising how community fundraising plays a vital role in maintaining their counselling and advocacy services.
The challenge formed part of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to bring members and local charities together, demonstrating how business collaboration can make a meaningful difference beyond the workplace.
SARAC CEO Caroline Fotheringham said: “I’m incredibly proud of all the divers and their commitment to making a positive impact.
“Their determination and enthusiasm have raised vital funds and inspired others to support.”
SARAC’s work has never been more critical. With more than 300 survivors currently reliant on their services, and many others facing NHS waiting lists of 18–24 months, the charity provides a vital lifeline.
Yet, as an underfunded and overstretched organisation, every donation truly makes a difference.
Research shows that for every £1 donated to SARAC, £16.71 in social value is generated, an impact felt across individuals, families, and the wider community.
