The Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, the Black Country Chambers of Commerce and the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) are asking for businesses across the region to contribute to the West Midlands and Warwickshire LSIP Survey, closing on Friday 9 February.

In September 2022, three Chambers partnered to secure the delivery of the West Midlands Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) which seeks to provide an agreed set of priorities that employers, providers and stakeholders in the region can get behind to drive change.

As part of ongoing research, the LSIP survey looks to local businesses to contribute their experiences of skills needs and post-16 technical education and training.

Feedback will help to shape how public funding is spent on training to support local businesses, and ultimately shape the future of skills development in the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

Emily Stubbs (pictured), senior policy and projects manager at GBCC said: “By contributing to the survey, your experience and insights will help to inform the availability of skills in the workforce across the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

“Businesses in the region have been affected by persistent skills gaps for many years, many of which have been exacerbated by the economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The research from the Local Skills Improvement Plan will enable us to better inform the alignment of skills provision with local business needs, enabling business growth and improving access to opportunities within the region.”

The LSIP seeks to provide an agreed set of priorities that employers, providers and stakeholders in the region can get behind to drive change.

The LSIP places employers at the heart of local skills systems, facilitating direct and dynamic working arrangements between employers and providers and ultimately shaping the future of skills provision across the region for years to come.

Participants will also be invited to enter a prize draw at the end of the survey, as a thank you for contributing, to win an overnight stay and afternoon tea for two at Coombe Abbey (Terms and Conditions apply).
