Cutlery manufacturer Arthur Price has achieved both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, marking a milestone in the 124-year-old family firm’s quality and sustainability credentials.

The dual accreditation follows an extensive independent audit of the Lichfield headquarterd-company’s systems, processes and manufacturing operations, confirming it meets internationally recognised standards for quality management and environmental management.

It comes as customers, retailers and hospitality operators increasingly expect manufacturers to demonstrate robust operational and sustainability standards.

ISO 9001 recognises organisations with effective quality management systems that ensure consistency, traceability and continuous improvement, while ISO 14001 covers environmental management, including waste reduction, resource efficiency and environmental impact monitoring.

The certification process included a full review of supplier management, manufacturing controls, operational procedures and environmental practices.

James Price, chief executive of Arthur Price, said: “Achieving both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification is a major step for our business and reflects the hard work our team has put into strengthening our systems across the company.

“For our customers, retailers and hospitality partners, it provides independent assurance that our products are manufactured to consistently high standards while being produced with environmental responsibility in mind.

“Quality and sustainability expectations are quite rightly rising. Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 ensures our processes meet internationally recognised standards and gives our customers confidence in the consistency and accountability behind our manufacturing.”

Simon Price, chairman, said the certifications validated processes and culture built up over decades.

“As a manufacturer it is essential that we demonstrate the highest standards of quality, accountability and environmental management,” he said.

“These certifications strengthen our position in the market and support our long-term strategy of responsible, sustainable manufacturing.

“None of this would have been possible without our amazing team, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them, not just for their hard work in helping us achieve this recognition, but for their continued contribution to upholding our very precious Arthur Price values.”

Founded in Birmingham in 1902, Arthur Price remains 100 per cent family-owned, with UK manufacturing sites in Sheffield and Birmingham.

It supplies cutlery and tableware direct to customers as well as to retailers, foodservice distributors and hospitality groups across the UK, Europe, and the Middle and Far East.
