A team of nearly 200 participants in this year's Royal Sutton Fun Run raised £19,875 for Good Hope Hospital and the other charities in the group.

The other charities include Queen Elizabeth Birmingham Hospital Charity, Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals Charities.

Mike Hammond, charity chief executive, said: “I am unbelievably proud of what the charity has achieved, the money that has been raised helps us to continue our vital work, from funding life-saving and cutting-edge equipment, to providing wellbeing activities for patients while they are in hospital.

"Everyone at the Charity works incredibly hard to help all the patients, their families, and staff and I have seen firsthand the effect our work has.

“As a local Sutton Coldfield based charity, we believe it is important to be out in the community, so we felt that it was only right for us to get involved with supporting the Royal Sutton Fun Run for the second year in a row. I am delighted so many people came out to support us, stepping up to participate, and fundraise for their local hospital charity as part of our Fun Run team.”

Fun Run event director, Nicola Davies said: “We were thrilled to have Good Hope Hospital Charity continue as a Supporting Sponsor this year and help raise the profile and awareness of the charity to participants and spectators around the course.

“It’s obvious from the results that the charity’s fundraising team, based in the Treatment Centre at Good Hope Hospital, worked hard to encourage staff at the hospital, and supporters, to register for the Fun Run and use the event to raise sponsor money.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship in future years which can only be of benefit to both organisations.”
