Hospital charity urges supporters to ‘Run for Solihull’ this summer
Solihull Hospital Charity is encouraging its supporters to ‘Run for Solihull’ this summer and raise money for Solihull Hospital and the Community Services.
The Charity has discounted places available for the Run Solihull event taking place on Sunday, 10 August. There are charity places available on both the 5k and the half marathon race, and there is also a kids race so the whole family can enjoy a fun day out.
The event originally offered a 10k race, which has now been changed to a 5k due to a change in route.
Starting and finishing in Solihull town centre, the event gives participants the opportunity to run around the closed roads of Solihull with a great atmosphere and enthusiastic support from the locals.
Solihull Hospital Charity plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience at Solihull Hospital and the Community Services, funding various projects and appeals including the refurbishment of the Children’s Outpatients Department, Pets in Hospital visits and added extras to support cancer patients on their treatment journey.
The hospital charity has recently launched the Solihull Hospital Charity Memory Garden, which provides a calm and quiet space for families and staff to sit, away from the busy hospital wards.
Charlotte Schofield, director of Fundraising at Solihull Hospital Charity said: “We are always grateful to our supporters and fundraisers, they really do help us make a big difference to patients and staff within the hospital and local community.
“We’re excited to have charity places for Run Solihull this year, and you can fundraise for the ward or department that means something to you.
“Sign up with family, friends or colleagues to take on the 5k or challenge yourself to the half marathon and run for Solihull!”
