Households across Cannock Chase are being asked to take part in the census, being surveyed this spring.

The census is a once-in-a-decade survey which provides the most accurate estimate of all people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941.

Census 2021 will be the first run predominantly online.

Households will receive an information pack with a unique access code, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on their computers, phones or tablets. Census Day is Sunday 21 March, but you can complete your survey once you have your online access code.

Census engagement manager, Kirat Raj Singh said: "With less than a month away from Census Day, households across Cannock Chase will have received advance postcards through their letterboxes reminding them of the forthcoming Census. From next week onwards, households will receive an information pack.

"Remember, census information leaflets and translation booklets are available in 17 languages and paper census forms can be requested for those that need one. To order a paper copy or information in other formats, please call 0800 141 2021."

If you don 't receive an information pack with your individual access code by Sunday 14 March, please get in touch with the census contact centre.

Results will be available within 12 months, although personal records will be locked away for 100 years, kept safe for future generations.
