Hubtel IT expands workforce by 25 per cent as part of AI-led growth strategy

A West Midlands IT consultancy services provider has expanded its workforce by 25 per cent as it “moves to the next level” - helping businesses harness AI while protecting them against the threats it poses.

Based at Nether Whitacre, in North Warwickshire, Hubtel IT, which serves nearly 400 customers in the region, is targeting turnover of more than £2.5m in 2026 after hitting just under £2.3m in 2025.

Founded by Neil Bayliss, its CEO, in 2002 from his parents’ home in Hall Green, Birmingham, Hubtel is now headquartered near Coleshill and employs 15 staff - a number that has recently increased by three as Hubtel IT eyes 30 per cent growth this year.

Hubtel IT’s three new hires - marketing manager Craig Potts, tech help desk manager Michelle Loveland, IT support engineer Jake Barwell - are a key enabler in its growth plan.

Neil Bayliss, CEO said: “Amid the rise of AI as a threat to and an opportunity, there is still no substitute for great people, which is why we’ve brought in Craig, Michelle and Jake to help us move to the next level. 

“Hubtel’s story is one of steady growth and adapting to the ever-changing tech Innovation. At no time in the past 24 years has that technology been changing faster than now - due to the advent of AI.”

Craig, who leads the company’s wider commercial and marketing strategy, oversees the expansion of its service portfolio and develops both partner and client relationships, said: “This is a pivotal moment for Hubtel IT as it reshapes and repositions ready to move to the next, AI-driven chapter.”

Michelle Loveland, overseeing the efficient daily flow of customer care, said: “My passion is client relations, specifically delivering a consistently excellent service with a human touch even as AI advances.”

Jake Barwell, dealing with day-to-day customer issues as they arise, said: “I’m excited to join a team with such a clear vision for the future as we help our customers cautiously embrace AI.”
