Businesses who are looking to stay on top of changes to trading regulations with Ireland and Northern Ireland can book onto the Chamber’s in-demand training course.

The first ‘Trading with Ireland and Northern Ireland including GPSR’ course last month garnered huge interest.

A second online course is taking place on 19 May, from 10am to 1pm.

The  session delves into topics such as:

  • Background to the Northern Ireland Protocol

  • Trade : Northern Ireland to GB

  • Trade : Northern Ireland to EU

  • Trade : GB to Northern Ireland

  • Trader Support Service (TSS) - how does this help ?

  • What’s changed/changing as a result of the "Windsor Framework "

  • GPSR - an overview

  • Trade : GB to Ireland

  • Trade GB to Northern Ireland via Ireland

A key topic within the course is on The Windsor Framework agreement - an agreement between the UK and the EU that provides a new set of arrangements for trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

It was designed to address challenges posed by the Northern Ireland Protocol, ensuring smoother trade within the UK internal market while maintaining Northern Ireland’s unique access to the EU’s Single Market.

Guidance is given on the changes to the agreement, and what to look out for when changes arise.

Training Manager Leah Quarmby said: “The session which took place last month garnered significant interest.

“With the ongoing changes in shipping to Ireland and Northern Ireland, it became evident that customers required guidance on critical topics such as the GPSR, TSS, and The Windsor Framework Agreement.

“Addressing these subjects and more in a single, comprehensive session provides an excellent opportunity for those already trading with Ireland to strengthen their expertise, as well as for newcomers to gain invaluable insights, all in one convenient place.”
