Intercity tee off another successful Charity Golf Day
Birmingham-based IT service provider Intercity Technology continued their fundraising initiatives with one of their largest events of the year - The Intercity Charity Golf Day.
Held at the Warwickshire, the primary objective of the day was to raise funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital, a non-for-profit dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare to children in need through innovative treatments, research, and compassionate care.
Through ticket sales, sponsorship and generous contributions on the day, Intercity are thrilled to announce that a total of £7,500 was raised for Birmingham Children's Hospital. This will go towards their urgent 1.5m appeal to purchase the hospital 's first iMRI scanner.
Birmingham Children Hospital 's Corporate Partnership Officer, Dearbhla Craddock, said the following on the fundraising: “Charitable donations allow Birmingham Children 's Hospital to be at the forefront of what is possible, ensuring patients and families receive the best care, treatment, experience, and environment. With Intercity 's support, the hospital and charity can continue to transform the lives of some of the UK 's sickest kids. ”
The day of golf was followed by a barbecue, live band and a speech from Welsh football legend, Dean Atkinson, who shared with attendees ' stories from his long career. Intercity had an exceptional turnout, with participants representing a wide range of industries and backgrounds.
Charlie Blakemore, group managing director at Intercity, said: “We are incredibly proud of the outcome of the Intercity Golf Day and the significant amount raised for Birmingham Children's Hospital. It was a great day filled with golf, sunshine and a shared commitment to supporting this exceptional charity. We would like to extend our gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and Intercity colleagues who made this event a success. ”
Intercity said the Golf Day would not have been possible without the support of its sponsors. This year the headline sponsors were Gamma, Freshwave, and Pentest People with further sponsorship from business such as CyGlass, Juniper Networks, KnowBe4 and Check Point.
