Investment boosts firm's printing capabilities
KEP Print Group has expanded its printing capabilities by investing in new equipment.
The Tamworth-based family-run firm has invested in an HP Indigo 12000 machine to offer more print capabilities within its factory.
Managing director Mark Plowman said the firm had recognised a shortcoming in production optimisation.
He explained: “We are very excited to bring the new Indigo into our plant. We 're keeping our existing Indigo [7900], but with the volumes that we are producing, it 's more commercially viable to produce on a bigger machine.
“This machine will give us a greater range of productivity, especially for smaller runs. We 're glad to be able to offer this machine 's capabilities to our clients. ”
KEP Print Group has been in business for more than 40 years and produces print marketing for some of the UK 's biggest high street brands.
KEP specialises in commercial print work, including point-of-sale, and operates an in-house cardboard engineering department, making the print company a one-stop-shop for all retail print needs.
The new HP Indigo 12000 is a high-quality digital press, bringing breakthrough printing capabilities that allow production of high-impact posters, folders, specialty products, and more.
KEP 's machine has seven ink stations, including specialty inks, and can print on nearly every substrate.
“This Indigo prints thicker material in a larger size, and still allows us to do all the special effects, ” said Plowman.
“We 've been thrilled with our other Indigos because it 's a greater quality than traditional toner-based digital machines. It was a no-brainer to go with this particular one. ”
