Investment from ASOS and South Staffordshire College will prove 'vital' to Lichfield and Tamworth's economic recovery from the pandemic.

That's the view of Jason Challoner, president of Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, thanking those involved in the first week of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce's Festival of Business campaign.

The first week of the campaign focused on Lichfield, Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield, and included talks on regeneration and tourism presented by Tamworth Borough Council, South Staffordshire College, Make-it-in Stoke and Staffs, Lichfield District Council and Visit Lichfield.

Reflecting on the discussions held during the week, Jason said that the Tamworth and Lichfield masterplan, as well as investments by ASOS and South Staffordshire College into the region will prove vital.

He said: "It was a pleasure for the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber to host discussions on projects and plans that will make a big difference to the areas we live and work in over the coming years.

"The Future High Street Fund for Tamworth and Lichfield City Centre masterplan, alongside planned investment from businesses such as ASOS and South Staffordshire College will prove vital to the economy returning to levels seen pre-pandemic.

"On the tourism front Lichfield and Tamworth hold such great treasures for people locally and also from further afield to visit and the support and success of organisations linked to this sector brings real vibrancy and positivity to the district. Thanks to all the speakers and delegates involved in the events last week."
