It's A Knockout returns to support blood cancer awareness
It's A Knockout is returning to Birmingham in September as teams go head-to-head in a day of fun-filled action.
The popular TV show, which ran from 1966 to 2001, featured a range of different obstacle races including the eerie-looking giants.
The show will be resurrected at Olton Cricket Club in Solihull to raise funds for national blood cancer charity, Cure Leukaemia as part of Blood Cancer Awareness Month in September.
Run in association with Off Limits Events, six teams will take part in a series of games using props and inflatable obstacle courses packed with fun and entertainment straight off the TV show as they battle it out to become champions.
Based in Birmingham, Cure Leukaemia fund the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) which is a network of specialist research nurses at 15 blood cancer centres located in the UK's biggest cities.
This network enables accelerated setup and delivery of potentially life-saving blood cancer clinical trials to run, giving patients from a UK catchment area of over 20 million people access to treatments not currently available through standard care.
The network has been funded by Cure Leukaemia since 2020 and costs over £1million per year to maintain.
Initially set up by professor Charlie Craddock CBE and Graham Hampson-Silk in 2003, they are now celebrating their 20th birthday as a charity this year.
The event will be held at Olton Cricket Club, 78 Grange Rd, Solihull, B91 1DA on Saturday 30 September, 11:00am-5:00pm with an entry cost of £50.00 per person, along with £200 minimum fundraising required with an afternoon BBQ included.
