IT specialists take to the skies for women’s refuge charity
Three employees from Hubtel IT took the skies on 19 July when they took part in a charity skydive for a local women’s refuge charity, Black Country Women’s Aid.
Neil Bayliss, CEO of Hubtel IT which specialises in IT support and cyber security, jumped from 14,000 feet at Langar Airfield in Nottingham alongside colleagues Mike Leach and Julian Brettle.
It was the first skydive for the trio who were raising funds to help Black Country Women’s Aid build 10 new refuge flats, after they were forced to turn away over two thirds of refuge requests last year.
Neil said: “Domestic abuse unfortunately affects so many people, and unlike our skydive it takes place behind closed doors.
“Black Country Women’s Aid work is critical so leaping from a plane is the least we can do to support them.”
Sara Ward, CEO of the charity, said: “These new flats will provide safe and secure spaces from where families can heal together and rebuild their lives.”
