Greater Birmingham businesses with an interest in the agro-food sector are being invited to explore new opportunities at a major trade show in Pakistan next month.

Taking place in Karachi, FoodAg is a premier international agro-food exhibition, showcasing Pakistan’s agricultural sector to a global audience.

And businesses from Greater Birmingham can apply to take part – with airfare, hotel and transport costs covered upon approval of application.

This year’s event takes place from 25 to 27 November and will feature more than 500 exhibitors and around 850 buyers from 80 countries.

With the theme ‘Harvesting Innovation, Cultivating Sustainability’, organisers say FoodAg highlights cutting-edge advancements in food production, processing, and export.

The event, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, offers curated experiences such as Global Cuisine Show offering 24 master classes, and Flavorful forum which included Chef Talk series.

FoodAg serves as a strategic platform for forging international partnerships and promoting Pakistan’s role in global food security.

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce president Nasir Awan, who led a successful West Midlands trade mission to Pakistan last year, said: “During my presidency of the GBCC, we have had great success in introducing importers from Greater Birmingham to new suppliers in Pakistan, with whom the UK has a flourishing trade relationship.

“This event will bring together global experts to discuss trade, investment, and sustainability.

“It is a great platform for forging international partnerships, as well as highlighting initiatives like Femme Forward and FoodAg Inspire which spotlight women-led innovation and future food trends.”

Greater Birmingham businesses have until 10 November to apply (when applying please state ‘London’ region).
