Kaleidoscope Plus Group (KPG) is encouraging local people to grab their walking boots and join its annual sponsored walk.

The 10-mile circular route will take place on Saturday 26 September through Lond Mynd, starting and finishing at Carding Mill Valley in Church Stretton.

Along the way, participants can expect spectacular countryside views, a waterfall, plenty of time to chat and a well-earned pub stop.

The walk is designed to be accessible to a wide range of abilities, whether participants are experienced hikers or simply enjoy getting out into the countryside.

Participants will get the chance to take on a challenge while helping to raise vital funds for mental health and wellbeing support.

And walkers don't have to leave their four-legged friends at home. Dogs are welcome to join the route too.

KPG is asking participants to aim to raise £100 in sponsorship, with every pound raised helping the charity continue its work supporting people across the West Midlands.

Last year, supporters took on a nine-mile challenge across the Malvern Hills, walking the full length of the ridge from south to north.

The event brought together KPG staff, friends, supporters and members of the local community and raised an incredible £3,400 for better mental health.

Eve Vines, KPG Fundraiser said: “We’re delighted by the support shown for our sponsored walk across the Malvern Hills.

“It was wonderful to see so many people come together – from those who joined us on the day to everyone who donated and encouraged us.

“Raising over £3,400 is an incredible achievement and a true reflection of the community’s generosity and commitment to supporting better mental health.”

This year, KPG hopes to build on that support and bring even more people together for a day of walking, conversation and connection.

Eve Vines, fundraiser at Kaleidoscope Plus Group, said: “Our sponsored walk is about so much more than covering the miles.

“It’s an opportunity to get outside, spend time with other people and do something positive for your own wellbeing while raising money to support others.

“The Long Mynd is a beautiful setting for this year’s challenge, and we’d love to see people from across our communities join us.

“Whether you’re a regular walker or just fancy taking on something different, there’s still time to sign up and be part of the day.”

Participants will meet at Carding Mill Valley at 10am on Saturday 26 September.

Registration closes on Saturday 19 September, so anyone wishing to take part is encouraged to secure their place as soon as possible.
