Judges announced for Solihull Awards 2026 with deadline soon approaching
A panel of leading industry experts is set to judge the Solihull Chamber of Commerce Awards – with the application deadline falling on Tuesday 5 May.
The event will take place on Friday 11 September at the National Conference Centre, bringing together Solihull’s business leaders for an evening of recognition, networking and celebration.
The head judge for the awards this year will be Helen Bates (pictured), Chief Financial Officer at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
Helen will be joined by Eman Al-Hillawi, Monica Ghai, Jamie Gibson, Martin Hall, Marina Ibrahim, Felix Peter-Thomas, Gary Phelps, and Claire Reeves.
Eman Al-Hillawi is CEO of Entec Si and has over 30 years’ experience leading complex business and digital transformation programmes, with a strong focus on people.
Monica Ghai is an experienced legal director at Shakespeare Martineau LLP, and specialises in family law, including divorce, children matter, and cases with international or cultural elements. She is ranked as a Leading Associate in the Legal 500 UK 2026 guide.
She also supports the firm’s India Desk and became President of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce in October 2025, leading initiatives such as Asian Women in Business.
Jamie Gibson is group assurance manager at National Grid, specialising in governance, risk and control across the UK and US, and supporting senior leaders and Boards.
Martin Hall is managing director of M Hall Limited and a leader in corporate insurance broking and also serves as president of the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce.
Marina Ibrahim is the founder of Globility Insights and has over 25 years international experience helping organisations turn cultural diversity into a strategic advantage.
Felix Peter-Thomas, a business development director at Santander, helps businesses with growth, trade finance and international expansion opportunities.
Gary Phelps is the founder of Gary Phelps communications and is a multi-award-winning journalist with over 30 years’ experience in regional media. He is also the president of Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce.
Claire Reeves is an award-winning mental health and wellbeing coach and counsellor, specialising in anxiety, burnout and neurodivergence, supporting individuals and organisations.
Helen Bates said: “It’s a real privilege to take on the role of head judge for this year’s awards.

Applications close at 23:59 on Tuesday 5 May, and businesses can apply for up to 2 out of the 11 categories, multiple entries are welcomed for the Unsung Hero award.
