Key appointment to drive forward Town Council's vision
Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council has appointed a head of project delivery and assistant chief executive officer.
Claire Edwards (pictured) will lead on the implementation of the Town Council’s strategic plan including supporting a vision to revitalise the town centre.
Other areas of responsibility include active travel, development of the public realm and transport infrastructure.
The role will have a particular emphasis on planning a sustainable future for the town including transportation infrastructure, regenerating the Town Centre, enhancing Sutton Park as a community asset and delivering more services locally through The Devolution Deal with Birmingham City Council.
Claire is a qualified strategic planner and practical solution identifier, with over 30 years project and programme management experience in various strategic development, regeneration and senior leadership roles in Local Government and the Gloucestershire LEP, plus also as the Executive Officer for a forum of towns and parishes.
Mosty recently Claire has been involved in the delivery of a range of projects to build foundations for sustainable place development through two evolving garden communities.
She said: “This is such an important role for the Town Council, as it enters a new chapter and a great opportunity to bring the full breadth of my skills set and experience into play to support a really exciting phase of economic growth and regeneration for Sutton Coldfield.
“I am looking forward to getting started, building relationships with the many local stakeholders and seeing what added value I can bring.”
