Key speakers to update on £40m town centre project
Businesspeople are being invited to hear from the key players involved in Tamworth town centre 's multimillion-pound development plans at an event hosted by Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce.
Key speakers include Claire Boliver and Kirk Hookham, chief executive and deputy chief executive at South Staffordshire College who are to provide an update on the progress of the transformational scheme that will see the Tamworth campus of the college relocated to St Editha 's Square.
The new college is expected to bring around 1,500 students, staff and visitors into the town centre, bolstering the local economy.
They will be joined by representatives from Tamworth Borough Council who will discuss the project 's timelines and the wider plans for Tamworth following investment of more than £40m from the government 's Future High Street Fund and other partners.
Chris Brewerton, head of Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, said: “This event gives attendees the ideal opportunity to hear about the most recent updates on Tamworth 's multimillion-pound investment and how businesses can be a part of the town 's regenerative future.
“I 'd encourage local businesses with thoughts and questions to come and hear what our key speakers have to say on this huge project 's current state of play and offer feedback as key players in the business community.
“As well as this, the event is also a great opportunity to network with fellow members and get updated on what they 're doing. ”
Both members and non-members are being invited to the event at Tamworth Assembly Rooms on Wednesday 15 June, 7:30-9:30am.
