Anne Shaw OBE, executive director at Transport for West Midlands, will be delivering a keynote address at the Sustainable Business Series Conference.

The Conference is the culmination of the Chambers Sustainable Business Series, a flagship campaign on environmental sustainability, supporting businesses in their Net Zero journey.

Anne has worked in local government since the early 90’s pursuing a career that helped to improve people’s lives.

Starting as a junior technician at Birmingham City Council, she progressed through various roles to become assistant director of transportation, responsible for policy, strategy, and delivery.

Anne later secured a role at TfWM in 2017 as director of Network Resilience, where she has delivered a unique service keeping residents, businesses and visitors informed of transport disruption helping them to plan journeys and keep moving, as well as preparing the transport operation to support the Commonwealth Games whilst minimising impacts.

Anne has recently taken on the role of Deputy Chair of Urban Transport Group.

Raj Kandola, director of external affairs at the Chamber commented, “We are delighted that Anne is joining us to deliver a keynote address at our upcoming Sustainable Business Series conference.

“Decarbonising transport is a critical part of the transition to net zero. However, this will involve overcoming a number of nuanced challenges for both local stakeholders and businesses, particularly in regards to encouraging modal shift, developing new technologies and navigating cost implications.

"I very much encourage interested readers to register their place at the conference to hear from Anne and an array of other expert speakers from across Greater Birmingham."
